Adding a contractor
Your workspace keeps a list of the contractors you use regularly — handymen, plumbers, electricians, roofers, cleaners. Once a contractor is on the list, you can assign them to issues in one click.
To add a contractor
- Go to the Contractors tab in the main nav.
- Click + Add contractor.
- Fill in the basics:
- Name (e.g. "Martin Russell")
- Trade (e.g. Plumber, Electrician, Handyman, General Repairs)
- Phone — ideally a mobile they actually answer
- Email — optional; used if you want Anchorlet to email them when an issue is assigned
- Notes — anything useful to remember (e.g. "Works weekends", "Charges €80/hour", "Very reliable for small jobs at Ailesbury Park")
- Click Save.
The contractor now appears in the list and becomes selectable when you create or update an issue.
What a contractor sees
Contractors are internal records — the people on your list don't have login access to Anchorlet. They're just stored for your convenience.
If you've added their email and turned on email notifications, they'll receive an email when you assign them to an issue. The email includes the property address, the issue description, and your contact details. Beyond that, they have no visibility into the rest of your portfolio.
Editing or removing a contractor
From the Contractors tab, click on any contractor to open their details. Edit any field and save, or click Remove to take them off the list. Removing a contractor doesn't affect any past issues they were assigned to — their name stays in the historical record.
Organising your contractor list
For a small portfolio, a flat list works fine. For larger portfolios — or property managers running multiple clients — the list can get long. Two tips:
- Use the trade field consistently so you can filter by it (all plumbers, all electricians)
- Put the neighbourhood in the notes if a contractor is geographically specific — e.g. "Covers D4 and D6 only"
